The latest calls and subsidy opportunities in the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovations for Competitiveness (OPEIC) at the end of the 2014-2020 programming period

In the currently ending programming period 2014-2020, several interesting calls are still open, from which applicants can receive subsidies for individual projects in the amount of up to several tens of millions, in particular to support investment costs. In total, more than CZK 3.5 billion should be distributed among entrepreneurs as part of these calls. Below is a more detailed description and parameters of each call from the Energy Savings programme.

Announcement of first calls in the Modernisation Fund

Given the Green Deal strategy aiming at a CO2 neutral Europe, the European Union as well as the Czech Republic try to support investments related to protection of the environment and climate, low-emission energy and other areas. Completely new grant sources have been created for this purpose, such as the Modernisation Fund, Just Transition Fund, Recovery and Resilience Facility or new operational programmes for the next programme period 2021–2027. The first programme currently accepting preliminary applications is the Modernisation Fund.

Announcement of new calls in programmes focused on the fight against the COVID-19 infection

In its emergency meeting on 14 October, the Government passed several subsidy programmes to support businesses and entrepreneurs in economic sectors which have been the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This, in fact, represents an extension of the existing programmes or new programmes under preparation, such as COVID – Culture, COVID – Rental, COVID – Bus or COVID – Sport II. Businesses and entrepreneurs will be provided with CZK 3.45 billion in total from these programmes.

Public tender of the Programme for the Support of Industrial Research and Experimental Development TREND

During September, the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic announced the planned 4th public tender of the TREND programme, in the sub-programme Newcomers. The programme aims at supporting projects that focus on increasing the international competitiveness of companies, supporting the penetration of new markets or a shift in global value chains. The sub-programme Newcomers is aimed at companies that have not drawn aid for research and development in the last five years, in the total amount exceeding CZK 1 million.

Calls of the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovations for Competitiveness for 2014 – 2020 on digital transformation and energy savings

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic announced several calls for projects focused on digital transformation and energy savings, i.e. calls of the Technology Programme – Industry 4.0 and Energy Savings Programme. Applicants can draw subsidies for their projects in the amount of up to several tens of millions of CZK within individual calls, especially to cover their investment costs. In total, more than CZK 2.5 billion should be distributed among businesses within these calls.
