Popular calls for photovoltaic plants will soon be relaunched

The State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic plans to announce calls for the acquisition of photovoltaic power plants again this spring. These will primarily be popular programs focused on acquiring PV plants for entrepreneurs with capacities ranging from 10 kW to 5 MW primarily for self-consumption (RES+ 1/2025) or with capacities over 1 MW primarily for supply to the grid (RES+ 2/2025). In addition to PV plants, it will also be possible to acquire battery storage systems and systems for hydrogen production through water electrolysis. Therefore, if you did not manage to submit your project proposals in last year’s calls, you will soon have another opportunity to receive financial support for the implementation or expansion of your photovoltaic power plant. Follow the official information with us and start preparing your application in time to maximize your project’s chances of success.

Eligible applicants:

  • Enterprises of all sizes
  • Implementation throughout the Czech Republic, including Prague

Important dates and deadlines for the call:

  • PV plants with a capacity of 10 kW – 5 MW:

– Planned announcement date: March 15, 2025
– Planned application period: from July 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026

  • PV plants with a capacity over 1 MW:

– Announcement planned for Q2/2025

The calls will likely be ongoing, meaning that applications will be assessed continuously in the order they are submitted until the program’s allocation is exhausted. Given that the application for support will likely require a connection agreement, an energy audit, and also a building permit or at least a submitted application to the building office, we recommend starting the preparation of your project proposal as soon as possible.

Given the currently high interest in renewable energy sources, we expect a large number of entities to apply for grants under the RES+ calls, just as in previous calls. From experience, we know that these can be very time-demanding projects, where the quality of the submitted project also plays a significant role in success. We have extensive experience with projects within the RES+ program. If you are already operating photovoltaics and lack battery storage, we recommend paying attention to the planned RES+ No. 5/2025 call, where battery storage systems can be acquired separately.
