Announcement of the public call M-ERA.NET 3 CALL 2021

The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic has announced a public call focused on material research, which is intended for Czech partners of international consortia, which can be both research organisations and companies. For the Czech candidate, the rules based on the EPSILON programme (Sub-Programme 2 – Energy and Materials) apply, from which Czech entities in international projects will be supported. The total amount of aid for Czech entities in international projects is then set at EUR 2 million.

A prerequisite for projects is to achieve a certain type of result, such as a prototype, functional design, software, industrial or utility model, etc., and to fulfil one of the six topics of the call, which include:

  • Modeling for materials engineering, processing, properties and durability
  • Innovative surfaces, coatings and interfaces
  • High performance composites
  • Functional materials
  • New strategies for advanced material-based technologies in health applications
  • Materials for additive manufacturing

Who can apply for the subsidy:

  • The applicant may be enterprises of all sizes or research organisations in international consortia consisting of at least three eligible partners from at least two participating countries (of which at least two are EU member or associated countries)

What the subsidy applies to:

  • Personnel costs
  • Scholarships
  • Subcontracting costs
  • Indirect costs
  • Other direct costs (e.g. depreciation, intellectual property protection, operating expenses or travel expenses)

Amount of subsidy per project:

  • The maximum amount of aid per project provided by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic is EUR 350,000

Aid intensity per project:

  • The maximum aid intensity per project for a Czech side is 85% of the total eligible costs of the project, according to the size of the enterprise and the activities carried out. In the case of cooperation between several Czech entities on one project (e.g. Czech research organisation and Czech enterprise), a maximum of 85% of the aid intensity can be received for the Czech part of the project.

Receipt of project proposals:

  • Project proposals may be submitted until 15 June 2021
  • By 17 November 2021, it is possible to submit a full application in the event of a successful evaluation of the project proposal
