Join the latest public competition of the TREND – Technology Leaders programme

In the second quarter of 2024, the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR) announced the publication of the twelfth TREND public competition to support research and development of new products and production processes or services. This is the last public competition of the popular TREND programme that is approved in the programme document, so do not hesitate and take advantage of this opportunity. TA CR has not yet confirmed whether a follow-up programme will be opened.

The TREND programme – Technology Leaders is specifically aimed at strengthening the international competitiveness of the applicant, therefore the results of the R&D activities within the project should have an impact on the shift in global value chains or ensure entry into a new market. A prerequisite for a successful project includes the achievement of a certain type of result, such as a prototype, a functional sample, software, industrial or utility model, semi-operation, etc.

Who may apply:

  • Businesses of all sizes from all over the Czech Republic, including Prague
  • Research organisations in cooperation with businesses
  • The business must always be the main applicant, the other participant can then be both another business and a research organisation
  • Businesses that already have their own in-house R&D experience or have carried out R&D activities with the help of a research organisation

What the support can be used for:

  • Personal costs
  • Cost of technology and equipment in the form of depreciation
  • Contract research and service costs
  • Other direct costs (e.g. materials, travel, small tangible/intangible assets)

Amount of the subsidy:

  • The maximum amount of support per project is CZK 25 million
  • Subsidy provided in advance

Level of support:

  • Industrial research: 50-70% depending on the size of the business
  • Experimental development: 25-45 % depending on the size of the business
  • 15% bonus for collaboration with a university or SME (Small and Medium Enterprise)
