Subsidy support for the development of research and innovation infrastructure

At the beginning of August, applications for the first call for Infrastructure Services were already open. The call will provide CZK 1 billion to support the development and improvement of research and innovation infrastructure services and to build up and make available research, development and innovation activities among businesses. Each applicant is obliged to provide access to the infrastructure to multiple users under transparent and non-discriminatory conditions.

What the support can be used for:

Each applicant (one ID number) is allowed to submit a maximum of one project for each of the following two activities under this call:

A) Provision of services to SMEs in order to introduce innovative new technologies and advanced innovative solutions

  • Personal costs associated with the provision of specialised services to final beneficiaries
  • Purchase of external specialised services
  • Tangible and intangible fixed assets
  • Marketing and promotion (de minimis)
  • Overhead costs up to a maximum of 15 % of total personal costs

B) Construction, extension and modernisation of the research and innovation infrastructure and acquisition of new equipment after the implementation of the project

  • Research facilities, technology and other equipment
  • Buildings, land, new buildings or technical improvement of buildings
  • Patents, licences and know-how, software, etc.
  • Project documentation (de minimis)

What, on the other hand, cannot be supported under the call:

  • Simple restoration of property
  • Productive activities and productive innovation

Who may apply:

  • Small and medium-sized enterprises
  • Large enterprises
  • Research organisations
  • Municipalities

Amount of the subsidy: 

  • Activity A: the amount of subsidy per project is a minimum of CZK 10 million and a maximum of CZK 30 million
  • Activity B: the amount of subsidy per project is a minimum of CZK 5 million and a maximum of CZK 150 million

Level of support:

  • For activity A: Support up to 75%
  • For activity B: Support up to 50 % based on R&D infrastructure and the size of the enterprise

Dates and deadlines:

  • Opening date for the receipt of applications: 9 August 2023
  • Closing date for the receipt of applications: 18 January 2024
  • Completion of the physical implementation of the project: 31 December 2026
