International taxes in brief: New France-Luxembourg treaty signed

On 20 March 2018, the governments of Luxembourg and France signed a new tax treaty and protocol to modernise the existing agreement between the two countries, which now is 60 years old.

The new treaty completely revamps the 1958 treaty and includes provisions that reflect the latest international standards found in the 2017 version of the OECD model treaty and recommendations under the BEPS project, as well as the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (MLI).
