In June, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will launch the application process for the High-Speed Internet subsidy programme. The subsidy will be intended for telecommunications companies and internet providers. Details about the upcoming call are presented in the article.
The High-Speed Internet programme will support two activities:
- Building new networks with the parameters of fixed VHCNs (very high capacity networks) and upgrading existing Internet access network infrastructure to reach the parameters of fixed VHCNs
- Building and upgrading backhaul networks
The call has not been announced yet, the parameters below are based on the information in the current time schedule of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and on the conditions of previous calls.
Who may apply:
- Small, medium and large enterprises from all over the Czech Republic, excluding Prague
- Address locations that were assessed as uncovered on the basis of mapping and public consultation
- Municipalities with up to 2,000 inhabitants where there is no backhaul network with connectivity from the forwarding point to the peering centre via fibre optics or other technology with the same quality parameters
What the subsidy can be used for:
- Capital expenditure for the construction of passive network infrastructure
- Capital expenditure for construction and engineering works
- Capital expenditure for active elements
Amount of the subsidy:
- Call allocation CZK 4 billion
- Expected amount of support CZK 0.5-230 million
