The Recovery Package in the context of tax changes
Following the Government announcement on the Recovery Package, the related amendment to the tax regulations was published. Below we summarise a selection of the most important changes in this area.
On Wednesday, 5 October, the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA ČR) announced the eighth public tender to support industrial research and experimental development under the TREND Programme, sub-programme 1 – Technological Leaders. The aim of the Programme is to fund projects focused on the development of 5G technologies and superior systems. CZK 300 million will be distributed among selected applicants.
The Programme is open to companies with experience in carrying out research and development (R&D) by their own means or companies with experience in purchasing R&D services from research organisations who have not yet developed their own R&D activities.
A prerequisite for a successful project is the achievement of a specific type of result, e.g. a prototype, a working sample, software, an industrial design or utility model, etc.
What is eligible for subsidy:
The project must include the use of 5G networks. At the same time, the Programme’s purpose is to increase companies’ international competitiveness, e.g. by expanding markets abroad, reaching new markets or advancing in global value chains.

Subsidy amount: The maximum subsidy amount per project is CZK 15 million.
Subsidy extent: The maximum subsidy extent per project is up to 70% of total eligible costs.
