Increasing the digital level of enterprises to be supported by two newly announced calls

On 9 June 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced long-expected calls regarding enterprise digitalisation called Virtual Enterprise and Digital Enterprise. A total of CZK 2.1 billion is allocated for these purposes in the National Recovery Plan.

The National Recovery Plan (NRP) aims at revitalising economy through grants and helping with the solution of economic and social impacts of the covid-19 pandemic. Other objectives of the NRP include assistance with the realisation of the ecological and digital transformation, enhancing productivity and achieving sustainability.

The aim of the current calls is the increase in the digital level of small, medium-sized and large enterprises. The support will include investments in the purchase and implementation of advanced non-production digital technologies, which will help provide a significant shift in the digitalisation of the enterprise through automation, data digitalisation and a more efficient interconnection and management of business processes.

In particular, the grant can be used to acquire the following equipment:

  • HW: robotic machinery for transferring goods or cleaning the firm’s premises, technologies working with barcodes, QR readers, servers, chips, sensors, optical and metallic cables, BIM systems or cybersecurity.
  • SW: software developers, systems working with AI, VR, augmented reality, ERP, MIS systems, automated order and invoice processing, production management etc.

The programme cannot be used for the acquisition of tangible assets that serve for the generation of profit from the main business activity of the grant applicant.

For the Digital enterprise call, the classification of “starting investment” is binding for the supported activities, including investments related to the major change of the production process, founding of a new establishment, expanding the capacity of the current establishment or expanding the production range to include products, which have not been produced in this establishment so far.

Finally, we would like to draw attention to the fact that the NRP call for photovoltaic systems has been prolonged and it is now possible to submit applications and receive a grant for photovoltaic power plants until 31 August 2022. At the same time, the allocation for these purposes has been increased by CZK 1 billion.

Other calls from the energy sector (Modernisation Fund), circular economy (NRP) or energy savings and innovations (OP TAC) will probably be announced at the end of June and in July. We will keep you informed about the announcement and conditions of these calls.
