New calls for digital business transformation to be announced soon

The Ministry of Industry and Trade will soon announce two new subsidy calls that aim to strengthen the innovative and smart digital transformation of enterprises in the Czech Republic. The calls entitled Technology 4.0 and Digital Enterprise (Call I.), which are part of OP TAC, are intended to help small and medium-sized enterprises increase the level of automation and digitalisation and thus strengthen their competitiveness.

If you are planning to invest in IT equipment or company processes in the area of digitalisation and automation of production and non-production processes, you can take advantage of support for the purchase of new machines and new software. Preliminary information on the individual calls can be found below. We will inform you about the specific conditions as soon as the calls are announced.

What do the calls offer?

Technology 4.0 Digital Enterprise
Amount of subsidy: CZK 5-50 million CZK 1-15 million
Subsidy intensity: 30-60%, depending on the location and size of the company 30-60%, depending on the location and size of the company
What the subsidy covers: Investment or acquisition of new production and non-production technologies and equipment that will not only increase the technological level of the enterprise, but also the digitalisation and automation of production (including infrastructure). This may include the acquisition of:

o    hardware (e.g. acquisition of production machinery); and

o    software.

Investment or acquisition of new information and communication technologies (ICT) or use of ICT-related services, for example:

o    information systems enabling complex digitalisation (intracompany networks, logistics systems, etc.);

o    non-manufacturing technologies (monitoring systems, readers, chips, robotic technologies for transporting goods or cleaning, etc.);

o    software, consultancy services, training or IT certification.

Subsidy conditions: The aim should not only be to purchase new technological equipment and facilities but above all to digitise and automate production processes – e.g. linking production machines with IT systems – and to make service provision more efficient. The project must result in a shift in digitalisation – the applicant must meet at least 7 of the 12 DESI digital technologies by the end of the project.

Who can apply for the subsidy?

  • Small and medium-sized enterprises; the projects must be implemented in the territory of the Czech Republic, outside the territory of the capital city of Prague.

Do the calls for tenders have any restrictions?

  • Each applicant may submit only one active application (per call).
  • For both calls, the classification of initial investment is binding, which includes investments related to a fundamental change in the production process, the establishment of a new establishment, the expansion of the capacity of an existing establishment or the extension of the production range.
  • For the Digital Enterprise Call, it is not possible to support the acquisition of tangible assets that are used to generate profit from the main business activity of the applicant.
