In the third quarter of this year, the Operational Programme Technologies and Application for Competitiveness (OP TAC) will bring a novelty in the area of subsidies for research and development – it is going to announce the second call of the Applications programme, which will be specifically focused only on the development of software solutions.
In the past, the Applications call was not thematically divided. This meant that IT projects had to compete with projects from areas such as biotechnology, nanotechnology or advanced medicine. These fields were often judged to be more beneficial, and therefore, the success rate of software development projects was low, even though they were innovative and unique solutions. The Ministry of Industry and Trade now wants to make subsidy support available to projects in the IT sector as well, thus contributing to the further development of this strategic and dynamic sector. Below we present the expected parameters of the call, where entrepreneurs will receive CZK 1 billion for software development.
