Public tender in the TREND Programme for the support of industrial research and experimental development

On 10 March 2021, The Czech Technology Agency announced the fourth public tender focusing on the support of the TREND industrial research and experimental development, in the “Nováčci” (Newcomers) sub-programme. The programme focuses on the support of projects aimed at increasing the international competitiveness of enterprises, supporting penetration in new markets or shifting global value chains. The “Nováčci” sub-programme then focuses on enterprises that have not used subsidies for research and development in the past five years, in the total amount exceeding CZK 1 million. The public tender supports the delivery of R&D results and their usage for the business activity itself.

The allocation of the public tender amounts to CZK 180 million. A necessary precondition for the subsidy to be approved is a certain type of a result such as a prototype, functional sample, software, industrial or utility model, etc.

Who may apply for the subsidy:

  • Applicants for the public tender may include enterprises of all sizes in cooperation with at least one research organisation.

What the subsidy covers:

  • Staff costs
  • Costs of sub-supplies
  • Indirect costs
  • Other direct costs

Amount of subsidy per one project:

  • The maximum subsidy amount per project is CZK 15 million.

Aid intensity per one project:

  • The maximum aid intensity per one project is 80% of the total eligible costs.

Receipt of project proposals:

  • Until 28 April 2021

Application reviews will be carried out between 29 April 2021 and 30 November 2021.
