We are looking for the best sustainability report: The next Deloitte Green Frog Award is here

For the 18th year, Deloitte has been looking for the best sustainability report in Central Europe. Firms may send their applications by 31 October 2018. What is the aim of the competition? The contest aims to identify and reward excellence in corporate non-financial reporting in Central Europe. REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.

Last year’s winner was the report presented by ŠKODA AUTO, which was awarded for its clear interactive form, transparency and external audit. The jury appreciated the report for including CSR goals into the long-term strategy of the organisation.

“We are very pleased that non-financial reporting has been gaining greater relevance year-on-year. The firms awarded serve as good examples of how CSR may be successfully included in corporate strategies, goals and value-creation. We can see an opportunity for developing an integrated reporting model in the future. According to our latest research, 92% of investors state that financial and non-financial information should be merged into a single integrated annual report“, says Lenka Neuvirtová, Sustainability Leader at Deloitte.

CSR Strategy and Sustainable Development Goals
Apart from compliance, the benefits for companies are numerous. One of the strongest reasons is based on business risk management. Investors and potential business partners take this non-financial report as a very important part in business discussions. In addition, these activities may have a positive impact on a company’s operations, its strategy and financial performance.

It is even more important today as it is not only the young generation that judges companies based on the impact they have on their environment and social development in their area and what they do for sustainability. All these aspects then create a brand which is valued not only by the company as such but also by its employees, potential job applicants, suppliers, investors and other interested parties.”

The Green Frog Award by Deloitte for the best Central European report has been reflecting these benefits in the long term: “The aim is to reward companies that use the process of non-financial reporting as a management tool. This enables them to gather and summarise key indicators and to assess how the organisation delivers CSR strategy and defined goals in the area of sustainability. Clearly, the activities do not start with the CSR report, however, the report offers a comprehensive perspective of an organisation, based on numbers linked to business performance.” says Fatima Araluce, Sustainability Manager at Deloitte.
